The car has no rust which is a result of it being in southern California all its life. There have been a couple of hack job things done to it. The first is that the door speaker holes were cut with tin snips to fit 5x7 speakers in it. And not even good speakers. The factory rear speakers were moved to the front doors.
The second thing is a fully functional alarm with a battery drain problem that was so bad that the negative battery cable was routed into the cabin of the car with a shutoff switch. Granted this is probably part of what kept the car from being stolen as 5.0's were a hot item, and still are, in Los Angeles. I just find the battery cable routing amusing.
A little blog about the build process of a car that almost got away.
